British Columbia Institute of Technology offers exceptionally hands on training for prospective full-time or part-time students. With small classes and industry experienced instructors, students are confident to use the methods learned with the job opportunities welcoming them after graduating. On the way to getting a degree, diploma or certificate, students will develop time management, interpersonal and communication skills. Also, students will be encouraged to work in small or large groups to accomplish real-world projects.
In the mining program at BCIT, students are fortunate to have various field trips to benefit their learning experience, as well guest lectures and conventions are scheduled to educate and prepare students for the mining industry. In partnership, BCIT Mining program and Mining Association of BC encourage summer employment between the 1st and 2nd year. A number of students answered a survey; 90% found a job in 2 months or less, 82% found program useful to job and 100% of students were satisfied/very satisfied with the mining program at BCIT.
Graduates of BCIT in the mining program have found career opportunities in many places of the world.
