The Link Between a Healthy Environment and Economic Viability
Terrane Metals Corp. is a Canadian mineral exploration and development firm. Developing large-scale mineral sources, Terrane is notorious for its work at Mt. Milligan. The copper-gold abundant area is located in central British Columbia, Canada and provides easy access to infrastructure located between Fort St. James and Mackenzie. Equipped with a highly skilled workforce, railroad headings, and relatively low cost and nearby power source, Terrane is able to thrive amongst its competitors. Terrane Metals Corp. purchased the Mt. Milligan project from Placer Dome in July 2006. Prior to Terrane’s acquisition of the property, Placer Dome had spent millions of dollars into the expansion of the company and its precious metals production. Terrane is currently nearing the end of its two year feasibility study, costing $20 million. The feasibility study has predicted an annual metal production average amounting to 88 million pounds of copper and 217,000 ounces of gold at Mt. Milligan.
Terrane Metals Corp. has conducted projects in Mt. Milligan with substantial environmental awareness, as well as with the promising, low cost production of copper and gold.
