Focused on Developing Iron Ore Assets in Sweden and Finland
Northland Resources Inc. is a junior company focused on developing iron ore assets in Sweden and Finland – two countries that are one of the last known areas with significant iron deposits. The company specifically explores for iron-oxide, copper, and gold deposits to supply Europe’s increased market demand for metal. Because Europe lacks iron ore, Northland Resources plans to make it their primary focus for development but is also looking towards new projects in North Africa and the Middle East.
There are many advantages for developing in Sweden and Finland because the basic infrastructure for mine development at all of the sites is already in place and there is access to transport routes such as the railway, road access, and ports surrounding the areas. Both are also two of the most politically stable countries in the world. It has also created employment for locals living in the Arctic.
In the near future, three projects will be put into production in Tapuli, Stora Sahaavara, and Hannukainen. Of the three projects, Tapuli will be the first to launch in 2010 as it has the lowest estimated capital expenditure has the highest rate of return and will take the quickest to construct.
